Default assassin hero

Any good builds for an assassin hero? I tried using a death blossom and Moebius build but Zenmai wasn't really using it very good. She was hardly using Moebius for some reason.

That said I've been pretty happy with this bar on my Zenmai, happy enough to want to run the character in certain zones:

Siphon Strength
Siphon Speed
Black Spider Strike
Black Lotus Strike
Death Blossom
Impale
Disrupting Dagger/Critical Eye
Resurrection Signet

13 Critical Strikes, 11 Dagger Mastery, 11 Deadly Arts

Unlike every other bar I've made the AI uses this particular character really well. It'll pick a target, put Siphon Strength on it, then is happy to use one of the Black skills on the hexed target. It isn't super fast with using the Death Blossom followup, but you're waiting on the recharges on your Black skills anyway so it isn't a big deal. Impale is used consistently after Death Blossom when it's recharged. It's not a fast combo like it would be on a player Assassin, but everything is used about as fast as it could be.

The Siphon Speed is basically just a backup hex when targets die quickly, and gets used for that purpose. It's also pretty good for Hard Mode mobs that like to run away. You can put any other hex in there though, or drop it entirely if you have a heavy hex build to take both Critical Eye and Disrupting Dagger.
Heroes are good at Hexing stuff.

black lotus is now a lead attack so i dont think heroes would use that build very well anymore.

critical barrage is really the only thing sin heroes can do by themselves.

I don't see why it wouldn't? One lead, one off-hand, one dual.

And this would be even better with full attributes
I'd use another preparation than rapid fire personnally.

When I'm not in HM and I need single target damage (Hell's Precipice) I've been taking A/P Zenmai for spammable deep wound.
12+1+1 Critical Strikes
12 Spear Mastery

Vicious Attack
Spear of Lightning
Swift Spear
Way of the Master
Way of the Assassin
Critical Eye
Optional
Resurrection Signet

you should check out my post...it has a 'sin hero bar on there that I personally used when I beat Gate of Madness HM - so it is proven to be effective...its a very effective tank bar with massive damage deduction from set target foe! enjoy...
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10219798

all hero bars are on there including the new 'sin bar I have recently been using for HM missions / vanquishes...just to prove that all professions are useful as heroes including the discriminated ones!

sin heros are badd.. unless you give them a simple build like barrage or some other gimmick.

heros fail at spamming Deathblossom with moebius which is the best combo in pve for a sin to possibly have.

Mine seem to be able to tank shiro / lich on HM without a designated healer and not die...interesting that (Zenmai; so not with new GW:EN AI improvements that are on the new heroes)

Give your hero a build with a L-O-D combo and you'll understand why they're bad. They'll often just sit there and auto-attack the enemy without using any attack skills.

What makes you think that GW:EN heroes are different? They all have the same AI.

@ AI discussion : I think he means that GW:EN had a big update concerning Hero AI.
@ Why sins aren't bad: I Agree with Payne and Ensign. The Siphon Strength build has proven to work pretty well. I even see some options for a solo build to farm melee bosses with it. Payne, I'm using your bar atm.

Zenami is just a bad hero.
She can't function her role properly unless you put her in a gimmick build (critical barrage) or some form of build that you yourself would not normally use.
Anyways

I like to run

Locust Fury
Mark of Rodgort
Conjure Flame
Malicious Strike
Golden Phoenix Strike
Black Lotus Strike

Doesn't really matter what she does she can do something as long as she whacks.

would really be pleased if you could leave a post in my thread with your views on the bar...
BTW you can swap out the combo skills for wild blow and distracting blow (alternative if you are interested)

Is there a good anti-caster/interrupt Assassin Hero build that someone can recommend?

I use Anton pretty effectively in EotN's dungeons for damage, but I'd like to make him more effective against the Elementalist and Mesmer bosses (like Ilsunder [sp.?] in Catacombs of Kathandrax).

I have been using [skill]Beguiling Haze[/skill] as his elite, but I'm open to suggestions. I don't think this elite working that well with the rest of his skill bar and, besides, it's a major energy suck as skills go.
